Tastes We Treasure keeps your family's recipes. This page explains, in plain words, what we store, who can see it, and what we will never do with it.

What we store

Your email address, used only to sign you in (we send a one-time link) and, if you ask for them, service emails. No password is ever stored because there is no password.
What you add to your family kitchen: recipe photos and files, the digitized recipes, stories, tips, notes, tags, and the profile you fill in (display name, likes, dislikes, allergies).
A small usage count (for example "a recipe was added today") so we know which features matter. It contains no location, no device fingerprint, and is never shared.

Who can see your recipes

Only members of your family kitchen - the people who joined with your invite link. There is no public feed, no discovery page, and no way for strangers to browse your recipes. We do not look at your recipes except when you ask us for help with your account.

The services we rely on

Cloudflare hosts the app and stores your data (database and file storage).
Anthropic (Claude) reads a recipe photo or file only when you press the button that asks for it, to turn it into structured text. Anthropic's API does not train on this data.
Resend delivers the sign-in and invite emails.

That is the whole list. There are no advertising networks, no analytics companies, no trackers, and no data brokers.

What we will never do

Sell or share your data with anyone.
Make your recipes public.
Train AI models on your family's recipes.
Hold your data hostage: the export button gives you everything - original scans, structured recipes, and a printable cookbook - any time, free.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from the "Me" page inside the app, no email required. Deletion removes your email address, your name, and your taste profile immediately, and signs you out everywhere. Recipes and scans you contributed stay with your family (they are the family's heirloom); your name is detached from them.

Backups and deleted recipes

Recipes removed from the cookbook go to a bin your family can restore from. Nightly backups exist so that nothing is ever lost by accident; backups are kept for 30 days and stored in the same private storage as everything else.
