Terms of service

Last updated 3 August 2026.

Short version: your recipes are yours, be decent to the service, and we will be straight with you.

The service

Tastes We Treasure turns recipe photos, cards, and files into a private, shared family cookbook. It is provided by Virtual Satchel (contact: piet@virtualsatchel.com).

Your content stays yours

Everything you upload or write remains yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, show it to your family kitchen's members, and process it with the AI reader when you ask. You can export everything, or delete your account, at any time from inside the app.

What you agree to

  • Only invite people you actually want in your family kitchen; anyone with the invite link can join it.
  • Only upload content you have the right to share. Family recipes, yes. Whole commercial cookbooks you did not write, no.
  • No abuse: no attempts to break in, overload the service, or use the AI reader as a free bulk OCR farm. Automated abuse can be rate-limited or blocked.

The AI reader is an assistant, not an authority

Digitization can misread handwriting; that is why every recipe passes through your review screen before it is saved. Check quantities before you cook, especially anything involving allergies. Allergy badges are a convenience based on what family members typed in - they are not a medical safety system, and you should always verify ingredients yourself.

The service is young

Tastes We Treasure is new and improving fast. We aim for it to be reliable (originals are write-once, deletions are recoverable, backups run nightly), but it is provided "as is" without warranties, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently: nothing, it is free while in early access).

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you inside the app or by email before the change takes effect.
